Having just watched Patrick Mau interviewing Lou Bennett, we searched the internet and found this wonderful piece of film. Here this amazing singer songwriter, performer and all round beautiful person Lou Bennett talks about a cultural tradition handed down for generations.

From the Yorta Yorta and Dja Dja Wurrung people in Echuca, NSW, Lou Bennett first came to prominence as part of the successful vocal trio Tiddas who released 4 acclaimed records throughout the 1990s. Lou has performed with numerous Australian and international musicians, including Bob Geldof, Arlo Guthrie, Mark Seymour, Billy Bragg and Powderfinger, and has composed music and performed for film, television, theatre, and public events as well as collaborating with The Black Arm Band and Bangarra Dance Company. Lou is currently undertaking a Fellowship with the Australia Council to support her future creative leadership of the Black Arm Band.
